02 As a result of participating, individuals will learn:
The 5S workplace organizational method that uses a list of five Japanese words translated as: Seiri "Sort", Seiton "Set In Order", Seiso "Shine", Seiketsu "Standardize", and Shitsuke "Sustain". The list describes how to organize a work space for efficiency and effectiveness by identifying and storing the items used, maintaining the area and items, and sustaining the new order. The decision-making process usually comes from a dialogue about standardization, which builds understanding among employees of how they should do the work, maintain their tools and set up the optimal organization of a workshop.
03 As a result of participating, individuals will explore / understand:
� A tool to identify and eliminate the �WASTE� in the value stream process.
� A methodology that will provide them with the power to decide over their workplace distribution and signage.
� A habit for workplace organization.
� A vision about how productivity increases without major effort or additional costs.
04 As a result of participating, individuals will:
Be able to implement the 5S methodology once they return to their own amusement parks. As 5s leaders, they will lead their staff to engage and improve in efficiency and effectiveness in their workplaces. Through this methodology, the participant will promote the participation of all members of their staff to work together to improve productivity, quality and safety.
05 Session Description
The presentation will include an introduction to the 5S methodology in the field of amusement park applications. Term definitions for �Sort�, "Set In Order", "Shine", "Standardize", and "Sustain" will be explained by a given scenario in which all participants will be prompted to determine and engage in the five steps of 5S.
