2024 AIMS SAFETY SEMINAR KEYNOTE

NEW YEAR. NEW LOCATION. NEW RECORDS.

AIMS International Delivers Another Successful Safety Seminar

[Dallas, TX] January 19, 2024 — AIMS International, the world leader in amusement safety education, set new records for the third consecutive year at its annual safety seminar. Over 800 attendees, instructors, manufacturers, and suppliers from across the globe joined AIMS International at the DoubleTree by Hilton at SeaWorld in Orlando, Florida, January 7-12. 2024 marked the event's return to Orlando after moving to Galveston, Texas, in 2018.

In addition to a record 800+ attendees, this year’s seminar boasts a record 440+ hours of education, a record 14 tracks, 2 Academy of Amusement Risk Management, Safety and Security (AARMSS) certification program tracks, and a record 160+ speakers.

“Safety is the top priority for everyone in our industry,” said Amy Lowenstein, AIMS executive director. “The continued growth of this event is a testament to the commitment of so many to that priority.”

Each year AIMS International brings world-class speakers, veteran instructors, and the industry’s top professionals together to deliver the amusement industry’s most advanced education. AIMS partnered with industry leading organizations Ellis & Associates (E&A), International Ride Training (IRT), and Urban Air to curate and present aquatics, operations, and adventure attraction specific content again this year.

New in 2024, AIMS introduced the Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) track with a focus on content for state inspectors. Advanced Weld Inspection and Welder Certification courses were also included for the first time.

“Partnering with best-in-class organizations has helped AIMS to deliver the applicable, industry leading education our attendees expect,” said Lowenstein.

Partnering with the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions (IAAPA) Foundation and the Outdoor Amusement Business Association (OABA), a record 13 attendees received scholarships to this year’s seminar.

AIMS International Board President, David Bromilow, Vice President Pat Hoffman, Executive Director Amy Lowenstein, and IAAPA CEO Jakob Wahl each addressed this year’s attendees’ moments before ICON President and CEO Chris Jaskiewicz delivered the keynote address. Jaskiewicz spoke about ICON Park and the challenges and rewards of operating an ungated facility. He also spoke about new projects completed and new tenets added during and in the post Covid period.

“We are grateful to Chris for joining us at this year’s seminar,” said Bromilow. “His keynote set the tone for this year’s record-breaking event.”

More than classroom learning, a record 45 manufactures, suppliers, and sponsors set up booths and tables at the 2024 AIMS International Safety Seminar. In addition to an average 40 hours of education, attendees get to ask questions in person and learn about new products while event sponsors get to hear direct from frontline users and those charged with maintaining their products.

“The growing number of manufacturers, suppliers, and sponsors each year, is a critical piece of seminar success,” continued Lowenstein. “Onsite activation expands the attendee experience in a positive way and their generous financial support funds many of the programs AIMS holds throughout the year.”
